Most artists are chasing perfect sound.
Lisa Arctender is chasing something much harder.
Before the studio.
Before the collaborations.
Before the music.
There was a drawing.
A young girl had drawn herself standing on a stage. Singing.
That was the vision.
For Lisa Arctender, music didn’t start as a plan.
It started as something she couldn’t ignore.
“I loved singing as a kid. For years, it was everything.”
Then life pulled her away.
But not far enough to forget it.
“I Didn’t Follow The Normal Path”
No music school.
No industry blueprint.
Lisa found her way through theatre.
In Denmark, she studied performance, not music. But something clicked.
“Music and theatre are the same at the core. It’s about expressing something real in front of people.”
She tried to switch to music.
She wasn’t allowed.
So she did what most real artists end up doing:
She found another way in.
I Learned Everything From The Inside
Back in Norway, everything changed when she met producer Kim Castle.
That moment shifted everything.
“I went from just loving music… to actually creating it.”
She learned how to build songs.
How to produce.
How to record.
How to deliver real takes.
“No shortcuts. No hiding.”
Working with creatives like producer Kim Castle, Tarjei Krogh (Multi-artist) Tommy Manboy (Turbonegro), and Spira helped shape her understanding of what it actually means to be an artist.
“It’s not about sounding like something. It’s about sounding like you.”
Most People Make Music For The Wrong Reasons
Lisa doesn’t sugarcoat it.
“A lot of people make music because it looks cool. Ego. Image. Social media.”
But audiences feel the difference.
“You can hear when something isn’t real.”
She believes the industry today is heavily shaped by surface-level content.
“Simple. Fast. Commercial.”
But the music that lasts?
“That’s the music that feels honest.”
“You Can’t Fake Emotion”
Lisa believes the reason people connect to music is simple:
“People get moved by emotion. Not perfection.”
That’s why she approaches recording differently.
“I’d rather do one real take than build something fake from pieces.”
Because when it’s real — you can hear it.
The Reality Of The Studio
It’s not glamorous.
It’s not always fun.
And it’s definitely not easy.
“Don’t quit just because you’re tired.”
If you’ve been in the studio for eight hours and you’re exhausted — sometimes that’s exactly when you need to push a little further.
But she also knows when to step away.
“If you get stuck, leave. Go outside. Reset.”
Because the best ideas don’t come when you force them.
“They come when you come back with new energy.”
Say Yes Before You’re Ready
One of the biggest mistakes new artists make?
Waiting.
Say Yes To Collaborate With Others
“Say yes to opportunities — even if you don’t know if you’ll nail it.”
Because that’s where growth happens.
“If it works, great. If it doesn’t, you learned something.”
Either way — you move forward.
What It Actually Takes
There’s no shortcut.
No hack.
No algorithm that replaces the work.
“You have to practice. Every day.”
“Listen. Learn. Study others.”
“Sing when no one’s watching.”
“It doesn’t come for free.”
And most importantly:
“Focus. Decide that this matters — and act like it.”
There’s More Than One Way In
Not everyone needs to be the artist in front.
Lisa points out something many people forget:
“There are so many roles in music.”
Vocalist.
Session artist.
Co-producer.
Songwriter.
“You just need to get in the room.”
Because proximity creates opportunity.
Why Community Changes Everything
Lisa’s journey didn’t happen alone.
It happened because she got close to the right people. That’s how you learn fastest.» And that’s exactly why platforms like MyTalent matter
Because today, access isn’t the problem.
Isolation is.
“You Either Feel It — Or You Don’t”
That drawing from childhood?
It wasn’t just a dream.
It was direction.
Now, Lisa Arctender isn’t chasing perfection.
She’s chasing something much harder:
Truth.
“People don’t remember perfect voices.”
“They remember how you made them make you feel»
